Event communication systems from Ramar cover the intercom, radio and paging layer that keeps production, venue staff, planners and security talking to each other — designed, frequency-coordinated and staffed for the run of show.
A show runs on the calls nobody in the room hears. Lighting standing by, band ready in the wings, doors held, motorcade two minutes out. When that channel is a pile of mismatched consumer radios, cues get missed and the planner ends up running the building on a cell phone. We build a proper communications plan instead: channels assigned by function, hardware issued and tracked, and a coordinator who owns the network.
Deployments combine wired and wireless partyline intercom for the production team — lighting, audio, video, stage management and camera positions — with digital two-way radio for venue operations, catering, valet, transport and security. Where a site is large or steel-heavy we add repeaters and antenna distribution so coverage reaches basements, back corridors, parking structures and the far end of a tent field.
Frequency coordination matters more than most people expect. Wireless microphones, in-ear monitors, intercom belt packs and radios all compete for the same spectrum, and an uncoordinated site produces dropouts at exactly the wrong moment. We scan the venue, plan frequencies across every wireless system on the job, and hold spares so a failed pack is swapped in seconds rather than debugged during the toast.
Kits are sized to the crew and the day: headsets and belt packs for production, hand-held radios with surveillance earpieces for staff who need to stay discreet, and a charging and check-in station so nothing walks off site. We deploy across the East Coast and the Caribbean, and on jobs where we are already providing lighting, AV, power or rigging the comms plan is written into the same production schedule.
Weddings & social events
Discreet earpieces for planners, catering captains and valet, a dedicated channel for the ceremony call, and coverage that reaches the getting-ready suites, kitchen and parking without anyone visibly holding a radio.
Corporate, expo & multi-day builds
Partyline intercom for show callers and technical positions, separate operations channels for logistics, security and exhibitor services, repeater coverage across halls and levels, and issued-hardware tracking across every build day.
Common questions
Do you supply the radios and headsets or just the design?
Both. We supply, program, distribute and recover the hardware, and we staff a coordinator who manages channels, batteries and swaps through load-in, rehearsal and show.
Will your radios interfere with our wireless microphones?
Not when the site is coordinated. We scan the venue and plan frequencies across microphones, in-ears, intercom and radios together, which is the only reliable way to prevent dropouts.
Can you cover a large tented estate or a multi-level venue?
Yes. We add repeaters and antenna distribution for steel-heavy buildings, underground back-of-house and spread-out outdoor sites so coverage holds everywhere your team actually works.
How many channels does a typical event need?
Most social events run comfortably on two to four: production, operations, catering and security. Corporate general sessions and expo floors usually need more, split by function so no single channel becomes unusable.
