Custom Event Fabrication
From concept to completion, our fabrication team designs and builds custom scenic elements, branded installations, and structural features that transform ordinary spaces into extraordinary experiences. Every piece is crafted in our 25,000 sq ft production facility in Torrington, CT, and delivered with meticulous precision.
Who builds custom event scenic and fabrication on the East Coast?
Ramar Event Productions designs and builds custom event scenic in-house at The Lab, a 25,000 square foot production facility in Torrington, Connecticut. We fabricate hard set walls, branded activations, stages and platforms, bars and bar backs, ceiling installations, and themed props — then install them ourselves anywhere from Maine to Miami and into the Caribbean. Because design, build, and install all happen under one roof, the piece that arrives on site is the piece that was drawn.
- The Lab — 25,000 sq ft fabrication facility in Torrington, CT
- CAD drawings and 3D visualization before anything is cut
- Hard walls, set walls, stages, bars, props, and ceiling builds
- Fire-rated materials and structural engineering review

- Delivered and installed by our own crew, Maine to Miami
For Brand Activations and Experiential Agencies
Your concept only works if the build survives contact with a real venue, a real load-in window, and a real crowd. We build activations that photograph the way the rendering promised.
Experiential Activation Builds
Immersive branded environments — walk-through structures, photo moments, and interactive installations built to spec.
Includes CAD drawings, prototype review, and on-site install
Step-and-Repeats and Media Walls
Press-line hardware that holds up under flash photography and hours of continuous use.
Includes print production, assembly, and strike
Product Display and Reveal Structures
Plinths, vitrines, and automated reveal mechanisms for launches where the object is the star.
Includes rehearsed reveal sequencing with the AV team
For Corporate Set Builds and General Sessions
A main-stage set has to work as scenery, as a camera background, and as a structure that hangs lighting and holds LED. We build it as all three at once.
Hard Set Walls and Stage Surrounds
SCG-style hard walls and modular set walls engineered to camera-ready tolerances.
Includes structural review and rigging point coordination
Staging, Platforms, and Runways
Elevated decks, thrust stages, and runway builds with proper load engineering and clean fascia.
Includes venue compliance documentation
Conference and Trade Floor Structures
Booths, registration desks, wayfinding, and sponsor structures produced as one coordinated package.
Includes show-floor labor coordination
For Luxury Weddings and Private Events
Custom fabrication is what separates a decorated room from a designed one. Everything is built for your event specifically, not pulled from a rental catalog.
Ceremony Arches and Altar Structures
Bespoke arches, arbors, and altar features designed around your florals and your venue.
Includes design consultation and florist coordination
Bars, Bar Backs, and Service Furniture
Custom bar fronts, illuminated bar backs, bar tables, and stools built as a matched set.

Custom Event Fabrication FAQ
What agencies, corporate teams, and planners ask before commissioning a custom build.
Do you build event scenic in-house or subcontract it?
Everything is built in-house at The Lab, our 25,000 square foot production facility in Torrington, Connecticut. Design, CAD drafting, carpentry, metal work, paint and finish, and print application all happen under one roof, and our own crew delivers and installs. That is the core difference between us and companies that broker fabrication out to a shop they do not control.
What is the difference between a set wall and a hard wall?
In practice the terms overlap. Both describe rigid, self-supporting scenic walls with a smooth finished face, as opposed to draped fabric or a printed banner. Hard walls are typically framed panels with a hard skin that can be painted, wrapped, or cut for monitors and LED. They read as architecture on camera, which is why corporate general sessions and broadcast-facing stages specify them over soft goods.
Can you build custom bars, bar backs, and bar furniture?
Yes. Custom bar fronts, illuminated bar backs, bar tables, and stools are a regular part of our fabrication work, built as a matched set so the whole service area reads as one design. We handle monogram and crest integration, lighting inside the bar back, and the practical service-side requirements your caterer needs.
How long does custom event fabrication take?
A straightforward build such as a step-and-repeat or a simple arch can move in two to three weeks. Full set-wall packages, multi-element activations, and engineered structures typically need six to twelve weeks from approved design to install, with the design and approval phase often taking as long as the build itself. Rush timelines are sometimes possible — ask with your date in hand.
Do you provide CAD drawings and renderings before building?
Always. Every project moves through CAD drafting and 3D visualization before a single material is cut, so you approve exactly what will be built. For structural elements we also produce load calculations and rigging plots that satisfy venue and fire-marshal review.
Are your builds fire-rated and venue-compliant?
Yes. We build with fire-rated materials and provide the certification documentation venues and fire marshals request. Structural elements receive engineering review, and we handle the rigging and load documentation venues require before load-in is approved.
Can fabricated pieces be reused for future events?
Yes, and it is often the better investment. We build modular and crate-ready when a client has recurring programs or a multi-city tour, so the same set travels, reconfigures, and stores. We can also hold pieces at our facility between events and refinish them as branding changes.
Do you install what you build, or is it drop-shipped?
Our own crew installs. The team that built the piece understands how it goes together, which is what keeps a load-in on schedule. We install from Vermont through Florida and into the Caribbean, and we handle strike and removal as part of the same engagement.
What does custom event fabrication cost?
Cost is driven by scale, material, finish quality, and engineering complexity. A single scenic element sits in a very different tier from a full general-session set package or a touring activation. We scope each project individually and present options at multiple investment tiers so the tradeoffs are visible. Contact us with your concept and date for a specific proposal.
How quickly do you respond to fabrication inquiries?
We reply within 24 to 48 hours during peak event season. For urgent build timelines, call or text 860-318-5557 to reach the team directly.
